Beauty Blogger Q&A!

Hello everyone! So normally, I post a weekly beauty review on a product of my choice. However, today I saw a blogger Q&A done by The Beauty Section called “30 Beauty Questions Tag”. I shortened it to 18 based on my favorite questions. I thought it would be a great way to dig into my brain and learn a little bit about my beauty routine. So this week, instead of the review, I will be doing this fun little questionnaire. Here we go!

1 // Do you remember your first makeup item?

I think it was a little eyeshadow palette with purple, pink and blue eyeshadow. I’m really glad I don’t have any pictures of this…

2 // Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?

I love dramatic mascara that lengthens the lashes. I currently use Maybelline Rocket Volume, but I’m not very picky about my mascara, I’ll use pretty much anything.

3 // What kind of coverage do you prefer from foundation?

Medium to full coverage. I’ve never had very nice skin, so I need a foundation with good, full coverage to cover my acne and redness.

4 // Favorite high end brand?

I got really into makeup about a year ago. I haven’t had a very steady job since then, so I don’t have the kind of money to spend on high end makeup. This summer when I start making money, I would love to go to Sephora and try out some high end brands!

5 // What cosmetic brands have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?

MAC! I’ve also heard good things about Kat Von D.

6 // Favorite drugstore brand?

I love NYX and e.l.f.

7 // Do you wear fake eyelashes?

Honestly, I wear fake eyelashes almost every single day. I was in dance from 7th grade until 12th, and we had to wear fake eyelashes for every performance — I got pretty good at putting them on. The reason I mention this is because a lot of people tell me that they would wear fake eyelashes, but they are bad at putting them on and they end up gluing their eyes shut. For me, it only takes about 30 seconds to put on my eyelashes, and I love the way they make my eyes look so I always wear them!

8 // Is there any kind of makeup you can’t leave the house without?

Tinted moisturizer. It keep my face moist and gives my skin a nice glow. On no-makeup-days, I still usually wear tinted moisturizer.

9 // What is your most cherished beauty product?

My NYX Lip Lingerie lippies. I have posted about them in the past — I’m honestly in love with them, especially my nude shades.

10 // How often do you shop for makeup? Do you like to pick up an item here and there or get lots of goodies at once?

I’d say that I like to pick up and item here and there. Pretty much every time I go to the drugstore, I end up browsing the makeup isle and I usually find something that I want to try.

11 // Do you have a “beauty budget” or you spend freely?

I try to have a budget. I don’t spend money on high priced makeup unless I absolutely need it… My brands are e.l.f. and NYX, which are fairly inexpensive products.

12 // Do you utilize coupons, rewards cards and sales when you shop for cosmetics?

I try. Like I said, most of the makeup I buy is already pretty inexpensive.

13 // What type of product do you buy the most of?

Lipstick, lipstick, lipstick. I buy so much lipstick, it’s unreasonable. Mostly NYX, mostly matte, but I’ve branched out to other brands and styles as well.

14 // Is there a brand that you absolutely can’t stand?

No, not that I’ve discovered yet.

15 // Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics like parabens or sulfates?

I usually don’t check the ingredients (although I probably should). However, I now try to make sure that I buy cruelty-free makeup as much as I can, so I try to check whether the product is tested on animals or not. I still have products that are, but I’m slowly changing my routine to be more animal-friendly.

16 // Do you like trying new skincare products or do you keep a certain routine?

I have sensitive skin, and so a lot of skincare products are too harsh for my face and cause me to break out. However, I’ve found a skincare routine I like, which is Aveeno moisturizing lotion, Neutrogena makeup-removing wipes, and e.l.f. color-balancing toner.

17 // If you could only buy from one brand, which brand would you choose?

Honestly, e.l.f. It’s affordable, cruelty free and I’ve found some really good products from them. A lot of beauty bloggers act like they’re too good for e.l.f., but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it!

 

 

18// What do you love about makeup?

So many reasons. Makeup is a beautiful, fun way to express yourself and your creativity. For me, it’s almost therapeutic to put on every morning. With makeup, there are endless possibilities and it’s just a great form of self-expression.
